FFF: Enoch Singing (with guitar)

Just a few long videos for your Friday of Enoch singing and playing his guitar (while standing up, which is quite new, as you'll see).  He is really loving strumming on this old guitar these days, and he requests to play it multiple times a day.  Thankfully one of our friends tuned it to a random chord for us, so it no longer kills our ear drums.  ;)  Hope you enjoy!

A Mighty Fortress is Our God
A mighty fortress is our God,
A bulwark never failing......
For still our ancient foe
Does seek to work us woe,
His craft and power are great
And armed with cruel hate

Colossians 3:1-3  (See #14)
If then you have been raised with Christ,
seek the things that are above,
where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your minds on things that are above,
not on things that are on Earth.
For you have died,
and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

James 1:12  (See #26)
Blessed is the man
who remains steadfast under trial,
for when he has stood the test,
he will receive the crown of life....

Holy, Holy, Holy
Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty
Early in the morning
our song shall rise to thee.

Psalm 1  (See #13)
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.

All of the scripture songs that Enoch is singing in those videos are from the Fighter Verses resource put out by Desiring God.  We have two of the CDs that we listen to in the car, and we all love them!  I highly recommend them, especially if you try to memorize in the ESV translation.  Here's a video that describes why they were made:

FFF: Karis in a Box

Just a quick video of Sweet Girl enjoying a shipping box we got in last week.  It was just her size and even had some fun paper inside!  In the video, Karis shows off one of her newer talents - drumming!  She usually does this when she is excited or when we ask her to show us how she drums.  Daddy thinks it's pretty cute, and Enoch likes having a drummer for his "band"  ;)

Also, just a side note that she is wearing an eye patch in the video only for vision correction.   Nothing is hurt, she just needs to wear it about 2 hours a day on her right eye so that her left eye has time to work out and be strengthened.  (The eye patch and her glasses -which are not on in the video- are both working toward correcting two things: 1) her left eye turning inward and 2) her vision being aligned.)

This was her first eye patch that we got from the doctor.  I put it on her just before snack time, and she didn't care a bit about it.

This is a pic of the eye patches I bought that are a tan color (this is what she wears daily now).  Typically Karis doesn't mind wearing a patch, especially if she gets some tasty watermelon as a treat!  ;)

And here are a few cute pictures of Sweet Karis in her glasses.  We think they make her cuteness sky rocket when she wears them. :)

Although Karis is super cute in her glasses, she doesn't love wearing them yet (I'm actually surprised they stayed on her face when she fell asleep in the carseat in the photo above!).  If I'm with her and engaging her, she will usually leave them on; however, as soon as I leave her somewhere (like while I'm putting away the dishes or grabbing something from the other room), she quickly tears them off her nose.  :/  Thankfully they have a strap on the back that keeps them around her neck, so we haven't lost them yet.  These days I only let her wear them if I know that I'm going to be able to easily and quickly enforce them staying on (so not when she's in the carseat and not when I'm having to cook or when I know she's going to be bored with what we're doing).  We have a follow up appointment with our pediatric eye doctor in September, so we will see if there have been any changes over the past few months from these two things (glasses & patching).

Enoch Running + the Colossians Sign (video)

When we went running this week, I got a good video of Enoch's cute little running style (his arms and hips shake quite a bit when he is trying to gain momentum).  It also just so happened that he spotted a caution sign while the video was recording, so you can hear his take on what those are for in the video too.

As a side note, usually he chases after me (behind me), and he's a wee bit faster.  This was after we had done about 1/2 mile of chasing, so he was wearing down a little.  Typically after about 1/2 mile, he gets tired and hops in the stroller beside Karis while I walk a bit longer.

FFF: Yield to the Colossians Sign

When we go walking at the indoor track in our town, they usually have caution signs stored in each corner. Sometimes they even have them out on the track when the building leaks or when they mop the floors. That's always exciting for Little Man because he gets to lap the signs and talk about them each time around.

The cutest thing about our encounters with these signs is the way Enoch pronounces "caution" - it sounds exactly like "Colossians." (I think this is because we've been singing a song about Colossians lately, so he learned that word first.) Anyway, it's the cutest little mis-pronunciation and always makes me chuckle to myself when he says "Colossians Sign!" :)

Enoch's Complex Sentences

I'm not sure how this is possible, but our Little Man continues to grow up!  Recently he has been experimenting with using more complex sentences.  It is so sweet to see his mind working hard, trying to communicate (even if it does sometimes take a little longer for the thoughts to come out).  I tried to capture an example of a typical conversation we have throughout the day in this video:
