Enoch's Pedal Bike & Our Christmas Break Visitors

Over the Christmas break, Hugh decided it was time for Enoch to move on up to a pedal bike (he had been on a balance bike, which has no pedals and focuses on teaching kids how to maintain their balance).  Hugh shopped for it himself and found one he really liked, and it is safe to say that Enoch was thrilled!  It is much bigger than his previous bike though, so he needs to grow another inch or two to be fully comfortable on it, but he has been enjoying it and can even pedal about 10 feet if Hugh helps him get started.  :)

And Little Miss Karis was promoted to the balance bike... only she also needs to grow another inch or two.  Right now, in order for her feet to just barely touch the ground, the seat has to be lowered all the way down, and then it drags the ground.  Hugh thinks he can possibly switch out the seat, but she probably still needs to grow a bit before she can master the balance bike.  She's pretty excited though!

And over the break, Hugh's mom and sister visited.  They were able to stay for five days, and it was just the right amount of time for the kids to really warm up to them and enjoy their company.  We had fun playing inside, visiting the refuge, going for walks around our neighborhood, and touring campus.  :)

It was pretty chilly!!

And someone was specifically quite sad to see Aunt Kaitlin leave...

We also did some planning over the break, to gear up for 2016, so now I am busy trying to implement those plans and begin new schedules & habits.  Overall it was a great and much needed break!
