About Us

Hi!  Thanks for visiting our blog.  Here's a quick rundown about who we are and what you'll find here.

Hugh & I met in college in 2007, dated for 2.5 months at the end of 2008, had a 4 month engagement, and were married in May of 2009.  He is from North Dakota; I am from Arkansas.  We were so blessed to begin our marriage while attending a strong church, with faithful Christians who taught us much (both formally and informally).  The Lord truly used our time there to deepen our understanding of the gospel, the church as the body of Christ, and marriage as the image of Christ and the church.

Random fact: We were both still in college when we got married. 



In October 2011 we were blessed with a sweet little man named Enoch John.  Our first daughter, Karis Grace, came along in May of 2013.  Our third child, Alaythia Ruth was born late in January 2015.  Since Enoch's arrival, I've been so blessed to be able to stay at home with our children.  I'm prayerfully attempting to raise them in a God-honoring way, and though I often fall short, His grace is sufficient even in my weakness.

  
Each day with these three is a gift from the Giver of all good gifts.


A few of the things I enjoy include studying the Word of God, playing with my kids, cooking/baking, fellowship with other women, growing/creating things, being efficient (thanks to my darling husband), and saving money.   We are currently remodeling our older home, helping with a church plant in a small Mississippi college town, and raising a child with Down Syndrome.  I also lean toward certain crunchy tendencies like cloth diapering my littles, baby-wearing, and home birth.  DIY projects are one of my weaknesses, as is anything chocolate + strawberries.
