FFF: Karis in a Box

Just a quick video of Sweet Girl enjoying a shipping box we got in last week.  It was just her size and even had some fun paper inside!  In the video, Karis shows off one of her newer talents - drumming!  She usually does this when she is excited or when we ask her to show us how she drums.  Daddy thinks it's pretty cute, and Enoch likes having a drummer for his "band"  ;)


Also, just a side note that she is wearing an eye patch in the video only for vision correction.   Nothing is hurt, she just needs to wear it about 2 hours a day on her right eye so that her left eye has time to work out and be strengthened.  (The eye patch and her glasses -which are not on in the video- are both working toward correcting two things: 1) her left eye turning inward and 2) her vision being aligned.)

This was her first eye patch that we got from the doctor.  I put it on her just before snack time, and she didn't care a bit about it. 

This is a pic of the eye patches I bought that are a tan color (this is what she wears daily now).  Typically Karis doesn't mind wearing a patch, especially if she gets some tasty watermelon as a treat!  ;)

Although Karis is super cute in her glasses, she doesn't love wearing them yet (I'm actually surprised they stayed on her face when she fell asleep in the carseat in the photo above!).  If I'm with her and engaging her, she will usually leave them on; however, as soon as I leave her somewhere (like while I'm putting away the dishes or grabbing something from the other room), she quickly tears them off her nose.  :/  Thankfully they have a strap on the back that keeps them around her neck, so we haven't lost them yet.  These days I only let her wear them if I know that I'm going to be able to easily and quickly enforce them staying on (so not when she's in the carseat and not when I'm having to cook or when I know she's going to be bored with what we're doing).  We have a follow up appointment with our pediatric eye doctor in September, so we will see if there have been any changes over the past few months from these two things (glasses & patching).
