Have you been thinking lately about what to do about immigrants? I read an encouraging and edifying post today from The Gospel Coalition about immigration. You should check it out: here.
Although it's written to pastors, it was an enjoyable read for me because the authors offer sound Scriptural thoughts on how born again believers in Christ should view and interact with immigrants. I appreciate the authors' bold stance on such a politically sensitive issue.
I would stand firmly behind the authors' main points, and we hope to base our family's ministry around the notion that we should have the same heart as the Lord in our relationships with immigrants. I mean, that is what sanctification is all about - becoming more and more like the Lord- right??
So, here is my answer about what to do with immigrants: befriend them. love them. understand them. help meet their physical and/or spiritual needs.
If you still haven't read the actual blog post that I referenced above, you need to read it!
