It seems like every night I carry my plump little infant to his crib to fall asleep, and every morning this long, lean little boy wakes up in his place. When I pick him up out of the crib he feels like he's been doing crunches all night, resulting in a hard, flat tummy and a 3" slim up around his waist; he also feels like he has grown at least 2" in height. (Hugh has also noticed this phenomenon, so it's not just me, okay?)
"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace." Acts 20:24

The Phenomenon of Sleep
For the past few months now, I've noticed this amazing thing that happens overnight... my baby is transformed into more and more of a little boy. You know that phrase "babies grow overnight"? Yeah, well it's definitely true in this household!
But don't worry, I don't let him stay too lean for long. Immediately after waking up he nurses for 20-30 minutes (that's double or triple a normal nursing session), and his pudgy little tummy balloons back out. Usually I can get a snuggle or two out of him after nursing too, and then I reassure myself that he's not a full-on little boy quite yet... for at least one more day he'll still be my little infant. :)

Enoch looks so long in that picture! They grow up so quickly!
I know! It's so true. It's crazy to see your pictures of Jesse because I'm almost always amazed at the new things he's doing!!!
